Ordering at a Spanish Cafetería: Lesson Guide

Whether you are ordering churros in Madrid or a quick espresso in Barcelona, knowing how to confidently order at a *cafetería* is an essential survival skill. This roleplay game simulates a real-world scenario where you must interact with a waiter, choose your pastries, and politely ask for the check.

Language & Cultural Tips

To politely say "I would like", Spanish speakers often use "Quisiera" (the imperfect subjunctive of *querer*). In some regions, like Spain, waiters will ask you "¿Qué le pongo?" (literally: "What do I put for you?"), which is a very common way to ask for your order. When you are ready to leave, simply say "La cuenta, por favor" (The bill, please).
